President, Versanture Consulting
Theresa is the founder and President of Versanture Consulting, LLC, which provides thought leadership in the fund industry and support for content marketing.
An expert on the fund industry, she is co-author of The Fund Industry: How Your Money is Managed, now in its second edition (Wiley, 2011 and 2015), and of The Pocket Idiot’s Guide to Investing in Stocks (Alpha, 2006). She has frequently written about the investment management business in industry publications, including the Financial Times.
She is currently an independent director for mutual funds.
Theresa served as the President of NICSA from March 2008 through June 2015, where she steered the organization through a realignment following the financial crisis. NICSA in a nonprofit association that works with operations professionals in the global investment management industry to develop and communicate leading practices, particularly with regard to regulatory compliance.
Before leading NICSA, Theresa was the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Pioneer Investment Management USA, where she oversaw a team of more than 50 investment professionals managing over $15 billion in global equity and fixed income assets for mutual fund and institutional clients. Previously, she served as the CIO for Prudential Mutual Funds where she supervised over $60 billion in assets.
In 1984, she was the portfolio manager of the top-performing mutual fund in the U.S., the Prudential-Bache (Tax-Managed) Utility Fund. She began her career in the investment industry in 1983 as a securities analyst.
Theresa is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Yale College, with distinction in her major of Economics. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
